We were very happy with this week’s progress, more deck work, staking, form preparation (digging), and the installation of junction boxes. We really appreciate all of your efforts.

Our next group will be here May 8th and guess what? There is still plenty of work do, so please join us. Where else can you help people while having fun – and see the attractions of South Dakota!

From here these folks are headed to the Black Hills and Devil’s Tower!

Spring is here, the weather is turning around, and we are out on the build site. The first team of Habitat volunteers worked last Monday and Tuesday. Another team from the Milwaukee Habitat arrives this Monday. It’s exciting and fun and for Dacotah Tipis, as this is the best time of the year. This is what it’s all about!

Last week was spent building the front and back decks in somewhat less than desirable weather conditions. There was a strong wind blowing on both days, but not enough to slow the volunteers… progress was made  and we had a good time. They enjoyed the work while gaining some insight into the Native American culture, and along the way here they were able to see some of the awesome local attractions.
